Meet Lioni

Hey there! I’m Lioni, and I’m so thrilled you’re here!

I live in the sunny, cactus-filled paradise of Phoenix, Arizona, with my amazing husband, Dean, and our sweet son, Max (yes, he’s the “Max” behind the Goodies!).

 

I’m originally from Indonesia and came to the U.S. in 2000—right around the Y2K craze! (Anyone else remember stockpiling water?)

I lived in the gorgeous mountains of Denver, Colorado, for 14 years before making my way to Phoenix in 2014. I love the mountains but, honestly, I’m quite happy here in the land of endless sun! Arizona’s spring, winter, and fall? Chef’s kiss. But August? Well…let’s just say you’ll find me melting and dreaming of cooler days.

As for football season? Things get interesting in our house!

We cheer for three teams—Broncos, Giants, and Cardinals! Dean’s from Jersey, Max is a native Arizonan, and I’m…well, you can probably guess my pick!

Now, let’s talk cookies!
I’ve always loved cooking because I love eating! Cooking lets me eyeball things in the kitchen, so I never thought I’d get into baking. My first sugar cookies were for Max’s 2nd birthday in 2019—not the prettiest, but friends swore they tasted amazing!

I come from a background in hospitality and marketing, working in the food service industry, but I never thought I’d become a full-time baker and “cookier.”

In 2021, I left my corporate job to spend more time with Max, and my cookie journey officially began! Friends started ordering, word spread, and here I am—creating beautiful cookies for you all.

Oh, and here’s a fun fact about Indonesia—it’s home to over 700 languages and dialects! How many do I speak? You’ll have to ask to find out ;)
